hey kid, how ya been?
it’s been a minute nice to see you again
i look back on the days back when
we were steady navigating through a city of sin
don’t know the reason, the accolade of our youth
living moment to moment and the moment was truth
maybe our brains weren’t fully developed
cause our concept of time moved slower we were truly enveloped
in the belly of bliss, oh sweet ignorance!
it was the call on our lips, honestly all in
to be free in the breeze that we conquered with ease
no responsibilities meant more weed for we
but time drifted as it’s known to do
and i started hearing less as the more slipped through
and though our aura was true, our corner had rounded
took me 10 long years but i finally found it
hey man, it’s all love
i know it can’t ever be like it was
but every now & then i get a shimmer of a glimpse
let it sit and sink in to watch it drift into the mist
like a vision i could see in a crystal
hourglass hands tried to grab me a fistful
of sand, but the plan never goes as planned
anyway, i saw you bought you some land
ain’t it funny to think, we could never had guessed
how the tables would turn, how our nature would dress
how we’d fall into love and be stable like barns
where the horses in our hearts would outrun all of our thoughts
but you know how it goes, with all gain comes loss
innocence no longer lives within the frame of our hearts
i miss the filter that we had in the days of our youth
cause nowadays we see it all, hard to stomach the truth
the corruption, the wars, the poor and the storms
the warming of shores, and we sure can’t afford to be wrong
but consumerism will reign strong
so be sure to take your next paycheck to the store
haha, well anyway i gotta go

if i had a scissor for every time i was stopped
