my buddy Andrew passed away over the weekend
my face started leaking, i’m never gonna see him
but the last time i saw him it was nothing but love
and he met me with a big ass hug
so i’m saying…
if there’s people in your life that you love
let em know all the time, don’t assume that it’s known
call em over the phone, write a poem make a gesture
give em their flowers while they’re still here to smell em
tell those stories while you’re still here to tell em
believe me they’ll listen, you’ll even see em glisten
if you don’t you’ll be tripping, and live with the regret
of never saying all of the things that you wish you said
squash beef, it’s not worth the hurting
why hate anyone? that energy is worthless
feel it fully all of the time & forget low
real control over the mind is letting go

higher living can be achieved by how you breathe
i used to take pills for depression/anxiety
but i haven’t in many years cause a habit can disappear
& i’d rather be happy here than be ravaged in rabid fear
just imagine it how you wish and be willing to make a switch
that’s uncomfortable for a bit but transitions into your bliss
you’re gonna die some day & that’s a fact
but you’re alive right now so you need to make a pact:
call somebody that you couldn’t live without
& tell em what they mean to you and don’t leave nothing out
tell em to do the same to create a loving chain
that no one could ever break because it’s made from no doubts
this is the power that we wield
if you lead you from your love you can lower your shield
and that’s real
take it from the top
and live your life as if tomorrow you could really drop
